The defense attorney representing Lindsay Clancy has formally requested a presidential pardon from President Donald Trump following a mistrial in her high-profile triple-murder case.
Attorney Kevin Reddington issued the direct appeal to the White House shortly after a Plymouth Superior Court judge declared a mistrial when deliberations deadlocked. The twelve-person jury remained split eleven to one after six days and over thirty hours of deliberation.
Clancy, a thirty-six-year-old former labor and delivery nurse, was charged in connection with the January 2023 deaths of her three young children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan. The defense argued that Clancy suffered from severe postpartum psychosis and auditory hallucinations, leaving her without criminal responsibility for the tragedy. Following the incident, Clancy survived a suicide attempt that left her permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
Reddington argued that federal intervention is warranted, maintaining that his client requires ongoing psychiatric care and physical rehabilitation rather than incarceration.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office has not yet announced whether it intends to retry the case. A status conference in the matter is scheduled for late September
