German Police Launch Manhunt Following Deadly Van-Ramming at Berlin Pride Event

German authorities have issued a citywide wanted notice for a twenty-one-year-old suspect following a horrific vehicle-ramming attack near Berlin’s annual Pride festival late Saturday night that left one person dead and at least sixteen others injured.

The incident occurred around ten o’clock in the evening when a white van drove off the street into the city’s central Tiergarten park, hitting multiple people before crashing into a tree. The vehicle was abandoned at the scene, prompting a massive police response. Authorities and prosecutors have publicly identified the primary fugitive as Abdul B., noting he is known to law enforcement for connections to local extremist circles in the capital. Investigators warned the public that the suspect may be armed and dangerous as tactical units carry out searches across Berlin.

Emergency medical crews treated victims at the scene for severe injuries, including three individuals who remain in critical condition. Police are also examining witness accounts indicating that some victims may have suffered knife wounds during the chaos following the crash.

The violence brought an abrupt end to the Christopher Street Day celebrations near the iconic Brandenburg Gate, where hundreds of thousands had gathered throughout the day for one of Europe’s largest LGBTQ events. Police ordered an immediate evacuation of the area and canceled the remaining performances. Public officials, including Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner, forcefully condemned the incident, calling it a direct strike against a free, open, and tolerant society.
