The college football community is mourning after Oklahoma Baptist University freshman running back Micah-Jo Barnett died following a medical emergency during a team activity over the weekend.

Barnett, an 18-year-old standout athlete from Jenks High School in Oklahoma, reportedly collapsed during a workout session. Training staff rendered immediate medical aid before emergency personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he later passed away.

School officials and coaching staff expressed deep heartbreak, remembering Barnett not only as a talented athlete who led his high school team to a state championship, but also as a dedicated teammate and beloved member of the campus community.
