King Charles the Third has issued official guidance confirming that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will remain non-working members of the Royal Family following their relocation back to the United Kingdom.
A letter dispatched by the Lord Chamberlain to government officials, military leaders, and regional representatives reiterates that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex act solely in a private capacity. The guidance emphasizes that their “His and Her Royal Highness” styles remain in abeyance and that neither individual represents the Sovereign during public appearances or charitable engagements.
Royal officials noted that the instruction establishes clear operational boundaries to avoid confusion regarding civic protocols, maintaining the core framework established when the couple initially stepped back from front-line royal duties.
