At Least Five Dead in Cargo Plane Crash at Miami International Airport

At least five people have been confirmed dead and five others injured after an Amazon-branded Boeing 767 cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport, crashed through the perimeter fence, and collided with vehicles on a nearby road before bursting into flames.

More than 60 fire and rescue units responded to the scene to battle the heavy blaze and extricate victims trapped in damaged vehicles.

The aircraft, operated by 21 Air as Flight 7598, was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when the incident occurred shortly after landing. Flight operations across Miami International Airport were temporarily halted, with officials warning travelers to expect widespread delays and cancellations throughout the region.

Federal aviation authorities and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation into the cause of the fatal crash.
