US strikes 3 Iranian oil tankers following missile attack on Navy warships

The U.S. military launched targeted strikes against three Iranian oil tankers in regional waters, retaliating after Navy warships were targeted by incoming anti-ship ballistic missiles, defense officials confirmed.

According to U.S. Central Command, an American aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded or intercepted the unprovoked missile salvo. No casualties or damage to U.S. naval vessels were reported.

In direct response, U.S. forces carried out retaliatory strikes against three Iranian oil vessels, permanently disabling two and completely destroying a third.

Administration officials described the targeted vessels as part of a covert shadow maritime network used to illegally move petroleum products and generate revenue for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Washington issued a direct warning following the strikes, stating that any continued hostile actions against American military vessels navigating international waters will draw immediate military force and impose escalating financial costs on Tehran.

The Iranian government has not yet issued an official response to the retaliatory strikes.
